100% Waxed Spun Kevlar.
The Fiber
Spun from 100% DuPont™ Kevlar® — the same aramid fiber used in body armor and aerospace cabling. Five times stronger than steel by weight, zero stretch, full strength when wet.
The Wax
A proprietary microcrystalline wax, hand-applied warm and heat-set into the braid. It seals the surface against grit and moisture without transferring onto leather, even on roughout or natural finishes.
The Origin
Woven and finished at a small mill in Asheville, North Carolina. Every spool is run, inspected, and cut to length in the same building — then aglet-pressed by hand before it ships.

Standard Lengths by Eyelets
Use the table below for any boot not in the length finder.
| 3–4 Eyelets | 45" |
| 5–6 Eyelets | 54" |
| 7–8 Eyelets | 63" |
| 8–9 Eyelets | 72" |
| 10+ Eyelets | 81" |
A "pair" = two facing eyelets. Speed hooks count too. Add 4–6" if you wrap around the back, or run a kiltie.
FROM THE FIELD
Latigo Leather Kiltie

Common Questions

How long will these laces actually last?
With daily wear on a heritage boot, most customers report 3–5 years before replacement. The Kevlar core is effectively indestructible — the wax coating is what eventually wears, and you can refresh it with a beeswax rub. Covered by our lifetime warranty regardless.
Will they fit speed hooks without fraying?
Yes. The round 4mm braid slides through speed hooks cleanly, and the wax coating firms up around hook contact points over the first week of wear — so the lace sets into position and stays there.
Are these flame-resistant?
Kevlar itself doesn't burn and remains stable up to 630°F. The wax coating will soften at high heat but won't propagate flame.
Can I wash them?
Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Skip the detergents — the wax coating is what gives these laces their grip and finish. Over time the wax darkens slightly and develops its own character.
What's the difference between waxed Kevlar and 550 Paracord?
Kevlar is the workwear choice: stays put, looks clean, barely wears. Paracord is the performance choice: higher breaking strength, slightly more stretch, a sportier braid. Both outlast the boot. If you want the one that looks most at home on a heritage boot, pick Kevlar.
